How do I fix ARD reporting which is...

Since updating to ARD 3.5 (administrator machine) I cannot run any reports on client computers running ARD 3.3.2, 3.4 or 3.5.1.  I see the message "transferring report" and nothing else happens.  This sounds like the issue that I've seen reported on a Google search.  Did Apple break ARD?

This is a not-infrequent problem with the ARD 3.5 client for which no definite solution has been found that I know of. You can find a long thread on the issue here:

For some, reverting back to the 3.4 client has reportedly fixed the problem, but obviously it's not a 100% fix since you say it's happening with the 3.4 and other clients. All I can suggest is to go back to 3.4 for the administrator app as well if possible. Instructions on uninstalling can be found here.

 

The bug was reported to and confirmed by Apple before ARD 3.5 was released, but they let 3.5 out regardless. So yes, they broke it, at least for reporting.
